Why I do it?
Jun 4 2008, 1:14 PM EDT | Post edited: Jun 4 2008, 1:14 PM EDT
How many times have I been asked that question, for me, its always a part of the small talk after the deed is done...

I dont have a drug addiction
I'm not homeless

I'm 27 now, and have worked on and off as a TV street worker and private escort for over 10 years in Australia, USA, Thailand, UK, Ireland... I was abused by the babysitter as a child and when I was older I never got angry about it or acknowledged it if that makes sense. Somewhere deep down, something went wrong and from having sex with men (particularly the ones I was attracted to) I felt validated and put a dollar value on my desireability which gave me somekind of (misguided???) empowerment - hence, I'm not sure if its an addiction and I'm not sure what it means...

For now I'm happy, my clients are happy and I'm seeing the world. I've never had any negative experiences, I've never had to lie to the many heterosexual cleints and I take my responsibility as a sex worker seriously being tested regularly with the many free government funded programmes in the cities I work in and maintaining a high level of safe sex practises both on the streets, the agencies I've worked for and as a self employed legitimate business.

So, who writes the rules. I want to know.... Thanks for listening...
